HOW IT WORKS

A clearer picture of your journey.

One observation at a time.

Create an account, verify your email and choose a public pseudonym. New profiles are public by default after email verification. You can choose a private profile at signup or anytime in Account Privacy. Live connection stays unavailable until the operator has approved Tesla app access and completed configuration.

Read only, and only when you ask.

With live access configured, authorize through Tesla’s own login. The only requested scopes are openid, offline_access and vehicle_device_data. Select a vehicle and explicitly opt it into rankings. A manual refresh checks connectivity first and reads the odometer only while online. We never wake vehicles, request GPS or send commands.

Refreshes are limited to one per rolling 24 hours, including unsuccessful attempts; the operator may choose a stricter limit. Budget limits can pause calls. Public pages always read cached database observations.

What the rankings mean.

Lifetime rankings show the highest verified odometer: the latest accepted observation, rather than distance driven since joining. Equal scores are ordered by oldest observation and then stable vehicle ID. Readings over 30 days old are labeled stale; over 90 days are excluded from current standings.

Tracked month and year scores subtract the first accepted reading from the last accepted reading inside that UTC calendar period. These are partial observed distances. We never allocate unobserved miles across months. One reading means insufficient coverage and a zero observed delta. Current periods are provisional. Decreasing readings and implausible jumps are held for review.

Milestones already on your odometer.

10k, 25k, 50k, 100k and 200k mile badges recognize accepted observations. Your first reading may earn several badges, labeled observed on join. Awards use the date we verify them; we never invent historical achievement dates. Demo badges remain fictional.

Built for existing travel.

No races, prizes, speed contests or rewards for unnecessary driving. Statistics are here for perspective and curiosity.

Questions we hear often.

Does authorization prove ownership? No. It means Tesla granted this account access to a vehicle. Can I leave? Yes: turn your profile private, remove vehicle participation, disconnect tokens or delete your account in settings.
